Cheese Tortellini in Creamy Marinara combines tender cheese-filled pasta with a rich and velvety tomato cream sauce, perfect for a comforting Italian-inspired meal.

  • 12 oz cheese tortellini (fresh or frozen)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the cheese tortellini according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  3. Pour in the marinara sauce and stir well. Let it simmer for 3-4 minutes.
  4. Reduce the heat to low and slowly stir in the heavy cream until the sauce is creamy and well combined.
  5. Add grated Parmesan cheese, stirring continuously until melted and smooth.
  6. Season the sauce with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Add the cooked tortellini to the skillet and gently toss to coat with the creamy marinara sauce.
  8. Garnish with fresh basil leaves and serve immediately.

Notes

For an extra protein boost, add sautéed Italian sausage or grilled chicken. Garnish with extra Parmesan or red pepper flakes for a bit of heat.
