Classic Meatloaf

A timeless, hearty classic meatloaf made with seasoned ground beef and baked to perfection, perfect for a comforting family dinner.

  • 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 cup ketchup (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, chopped onion, minced garlic, eggs, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and thyme. Mix until just combined.
  3. Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in a loaf pan or on a baking sheet.
  4. Spread 1/2 cup of ketchup evenly over the top of the meatloaf.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 60 minutes or until the meatloaf is cooked through and the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
  6. Let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, try adding 1/4 cup of finely chopped bell peppers to the meat mixture or serve with mashed potatoes and steamed vegetables.
