Caprese Skewer

Caprese Skewers are a fresh and vibrant appetizer combining juicy cherry tomatoes, creamy mozzarella, and fragrant basil leaves drizzled with balsamic glaze for an effortless Italian favorite.

  • 20 cherry tomatoes
  • 20 fresh mozzarella balls (bocconcini)
  • 20 fresh basil leaves
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic glaze
  • Salt, to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 20 wooden skewers or toothpicks

Instructions

  1. Rinse the cherry tomatoes and basil leaves under cold water and pat dry.
  2. Drain mozzarella balls from their liquid.
  3. On each skewer, thread one cherry tomato, one mozzarella ball, and one basil leaf. Repeat the layering if desired.
  4. Arrange the skewers on a serving platter.
  5. Drizzle olive oil and balsamic glaze evenly over the skewers.
  6. Season with a light sprinkle of salt and freshly ground black pepper.
  7. Serve immediately or refrigerate for up to 1 hour before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, sprinkle with a pinch of crushed red pepper or use flavored balsamic glaze to enhance the taste.
