Peppermint Creams

Delight in these smooth and refreshing Peppermint Creams, a classic minty candy perfect for a sweet treat or after-dinner refreshment.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups powdered sugar, sifted
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 tbsp heavy cream
  • 1 tsp peppermint extract
  • Red food coloring (optional)
  • Additional powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, cream the softened butter until smooth.
  2. Add the powdered sugar alternately with the heavy cream, mixing until a dough forms.
  3. Stir in peppermint extract and a few drops of red food coloring if desired, until evenly combined.
  4. Turn the dough onto a surface dusted with powdered sugar and knead lightly to a smooth consistency.
  5. Roll the dough out to about ¼ inch thickness and cut into small circles or desired shapes.
  6. Place the pieces on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and allow them to dry at room temperature for 4-6 hours or until firm.
  7. Once set, store the peppermint creams in an airtight container, separating layers with parchment paper.

Notes

For an added touch, dip the peppermint creams in melted dark chocolate and let them set for a delicious twist.
